The British Academy Television Awardstook place in London at Royal Festival Hall last night and we saw a lot of familiar celeb faces dressed beautifully, some in embellished gowns, while others sported refreshingly modern twists on the red carpet look.
Le’ts take a look at some of the hits and misses on the BAFTAs red carpet.
THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE
The Duchess of Cambridge looked incredible in a dreamy white, one-shouldered gown, alongside her husband Prince William. Kate paired the dress with a pair of diamond-drop earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana, and silver Jimmy Choo ‘Romy in Viola’ glitter shoes. As always she looked beautiful.
This look is so striking and she definitely made an entrance in a Valentino Pre-fall 2019 gown with detailing on the bottom half of the gown, pairing it with statement jewels.
Lily always turns heads no matter what she wears. The actress stepped out in this couture dress by Givenchy, and we’re just obsessing over this look. We love the floral embellishment, which then turned into a sheer lace skirt, whilst the satin cropped blazer adds another unexpected touch to complete the dress.
We aren’t too sure if this look’s for the red carpet. This is more what you would wear to Fashion Week and seems a little too lazy. Sorry, Zawe, we aren’t really into this paperbag look – you’re drowning in it.
This look caused quite a stir as people commented that she looked like she was wearing the Infinity Stones sought after by supervillain Thanos in Marvel’s Endgame! Thanks, Cate, for bringing some fun to the red carpet.
Irina kept it simple and sexy in an oversized Burberry Tuxedo and embellished heels.
We aren’t sure what’s going on with this look. The bizarre mixture of sequins and ruffles clash and looks heavy and clumsy.
Regina looked pretty in pink in an Atelier Versace number with a thigh-high split showcasing her toned legs.
Salma always looks elegant and beautiful no matter what she wears. She walked the carpet in a Gucci dress and Boucheron jewellery. She wore a skin-tight Gucci black gown while giving an edgy touch with a huge Boucheron brooch on her shoulder and a beaded headdress.
Letitia looked elegant in this white Stella McCartney. She kept accessories to a minimum and it looked effortless.
MARY J. BLIGE
Mary J. Blige looked incredibly hot and fierce in this slim, tailored Ralph & Russo. This was no plain tuxedo. It was a showstopper, with a golden lace decorating half the jacket, paired with gold accessories and nude heels.
