Slow Cooker Honey & Garlic Chicken

Garlic is believed to be a native of central Asia, South Asia or southwestern Siberia. There is some debate over the origin of this herb. It is one of the world's oldest cultivated crops. 8 chicken thighs – skinless and or boneless
5 garlic cloves minced – crushed
80ml Honey
125ml Thick Tomato Juice
125ml soy sauce
½ teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons fresh parsley
Seasoning to taste


1. Arrange chicken thighs on the bottom of the slow cooker and set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl combine garlic, honey, tomato juice soy sauce oregano and parsley
3. Whisk until thoroughly combined, check seasoning and adjust if necessary
4. Pour the sauce over the chicken thighs.
5. Close with a lid and cook for 5 to 6 hours on LOW or 4 to 5 hours on high
6. Remove the lid and transfer chicken to a serving plate
7. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with freshly chopped chives or spring onions with a side of rice.


If you are not allergic to nuts you may use toasted sesame seeds to sprinkle over instead of the chives or spring onions. Tomato Sauce can be used instead of Tomato Juice. 165° F is the safe internal temperature for both the white meat of the chicken and the dark meat.
