FOLLOWING Tuesday’s shenanigans in parliament between the Economic Freedom Fighters and parliamentary security officials, fresh claims have now surfaced that a member of EFF leader Julius Malema’s personal security detail may have entered the National Assembly during the clash which saw the EFF being ejected from the house.
This was as a result of the EFF insisting it would not allow President Jacob Zuma to address the house at the scheduled Questions and Answers session. At a media briefing held yester in Cape Town, ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu demanded that an immediate investigation into the bodyguard claims. The EFF have yet to respond to the allegation, reports The Citizen. Tuesday’s mayhem has led to #ZumaQandA trending for days on social media, and South Africans, true to form, have had fun commenting on the scuffle. The latest digital LOL doing the rounds refers to the moment when an EFF MP was seen taking aim with her handbag at a Parliamentary Protection Services official.
