The Small Business Corner: Your Hearts Design

WE at people magazine believe in the small business enterprise as a driver of our economy. We are strong supporters of individuals who exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit and who are creating jobs. And that’s why we want to give them our full support.

Who Are They?

YOUR HEARTS DESIGN is a homebased bakery specialising in baked goods and novelty cakes, and owned and run by Nicole Kulz, a qualified chef whose love of baking started at a very young age. After graduating from South African Chefs Academy in 2010 Nicole started working at bakeries around Cape Town but eventually decided to go on her own in 2016.

What Do They Do?

YOUR HEARTS DESIGN bakes a variety of goods and treats for all occasions – weddings, birthdays, kitchen teas, bachelor/ bachelorette parties, corporate events, graduations and any other occasion that calls for celebratory cakes, biscuits, cake pops and all other baked treats.

Where Are They Based?

YOUR HEARTS DESIGN is based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, in the Plumstead area. If that’s a bit out of your way – delivery can be arranged for all orders.

Who Benefits?

ABSOLUTELY everybody! Whether you place an order for yourself, or as gift to a friend or family member, all orders are personalised to fulfil your heart’s desire!

Robert

Robert is a descendant of the stout Macpherson Clan out of the Scottish Highlands and can claim Robert the Bruce as a far-off cousin. He suffers from a severe form of Collectors’ Disease and sports an assortment of small valuable curious. In his spare time he works a full-time job, but his real prowess lies within his musical aptitude as a drummer. He is a semi-amateur of the instrument and although he claims beating a drumhead one of the more primal sensations man can experience, he feels it to be an unnatural exercise to pursue. If he could have his way, he’d have breakfast every meal of the day and is a fan of all things Roald Dahl.
