No Cats Allowed

By Robert Clunie

Expect the city of London to turn odd in a fit of role reversal when the K9 doubledecker bus commences operations. We hope that a string of possible traffic violations will be kept at bay – people might run after vehicles; they might even get cosy with fire hydrants. Nevertheless, the city’s tourism council has come up with a world’s first and one-of-a-kind experience for man’s best friend. The K9 bus tour launched in mid-January and it provides a free service geared specifically toward dogs. Owners and their favourite poochies are invited onboard for a canine-friendly tour of the city ‘rich with canine history’. A map is provided for its passengers that points out dog-friendly pubs and restaurants across the metropolitan area. The bus will also regularly stop at famous dogwalking Shangri-Las like Hyde Park. The scenic tour also passes Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street where some of the country’s more famous dogs reside.
