World Pangolin Day is raising awareness of the plight of the pangolin, which is being poached both in Asia and Africa by poachers. They are eaten but their scales are believed to have medicinal qualities by some Chinese people and is mainly the reason for their numbers are being decimated. A shocking million pangolins have been killed for their scales and meat since 2011.
