Trend To Try: Splash Out With Your Make-Up

THE right swimwear can make a huge difference with how confident you feel on the beach or at the poolside. So too can make-up. We’re not suggesting that you hit the waves with a full face complete with high coverage foundation, faux eyelashes and a smoky eye, but this season’s make-up trends are best worn out in the sun, rocking your newest bikini. We dare you to keep foundation to a minimal and embrace the colours of the ocean.

COBALT, sapphire, navy and azure. Stand-out blue is the only colour to wear on your peepers this December. Make way for a seriously graphic gaze, as contemporary hues call for bold shapes. Think a classic cat eye, out there negative space liner or a cool cut crease look. Instead of sweeping the colour of the moment across the lids, give it a modern twist by using the shade for a graphic flick. Want an even more pigmented look? Try dipping a damp angle brush into eyeshadow.

I am Beauty Editor at People Magazine and a make-up artist. I have worked with many celebrities, including, Phumeza Mdaba, Boity, Zuraida Jardine and Rolene Strauss. I always knew I would work in magazines, as I grew up in publishing (my parents are publishers). When I’m not writing beauty or following my passion for make-up, I can be found reading and spending time with family and friends. I am also a tea-lover
