Trend To Try: Full Throttle Metal

A beauty trend that’s sure to make your heart flutter is flat-out fabulous metallic touches. Some trends are so crazy and unexpected that they hit Instagram like a beauty tidal wave (rainbow lipstick anyone?). But metallics offer the best of both worlds: there are soft shimmers if you want to ease into getting that glimmer and then there are seriously daring HD full throttle eyes.

FACT: There is nothing wrong with a traditional black smoky eye – it’s a classic after all. But there’s also something truly special about one in an unexpected metallic. As your bravery in metallic increases, it’s time to go bold. Opt for a deeply pigmented metallic eyeshadow in a bold hue, such as emerald or cobalt blue and work it all over the eyes – on the lids, in the crease and curving out to the temples. Line lower lashes with black or charcoal eyeliner and go over the liner with a metallic eyeshadow in a hue that contrast the lids. Focus you mascara wand on the root of the lash, this allows the tips of lashes to remain wispy and flatteringly fluttery.
