Spring Fling: Your Spring Make-Up Sorted

EVERY woman should have a wardrobe of beauty tricks to turn to depending on the season, just like one has with clothes. The obvious essentials for the warmer months, like tinted moisturiser, waterproof mascara and a cream blush, are a given, but in 2018 Spring is full of classic hair and make-up trends that will be part of your staples forever.

Baby Hairs

WISPY edges that are brilliantly glossy and well-shaped are #goals. If you’re hairstyle of choice is a sleek ponytail, topknot or a braided style, it’s not complete without perfected edges.  Turn baby hair from a nuisance into a fashion statement with a product that leaves edges locked in without white ‘beading’ occurring. Bottom line with this trend: embrace them!

The Iconic ‘80s

EIGHTIES inspired make-up has been trending on the biggest fashion runways for the last two seasons at least, but what shows up here doesn’t always translate beautifully IRL. Case in point: draping. Difficult to pull off, but when you do, it’s absolutely gorgeous. Reach for your blush brush and sweep along your upper cheekbone up to the temples. Feeling really brave? Pair with an equally delicious glossy lip.

Continues Craze

THE cat eye has never really left the forefront of trends. It’s pretty safe to say that it’s on its way to become a classic. Make it spring appropriate by adding a bit of colour either on lips or by tracing above the wing in a lighter Spring-appropriate shade. Or make it look as fresh as Rihanna’s by opting for stark white. The colour brightens her eyes without reading too bold.

Golden Lipstick

USUALLY, we pack on the pinks from pastel to power when it comes to a spring ready pout. But may we suggest a new favourite? A hint of gold on lips. Line lips with a dark brown lip liner then apply a coat of nude as a base. With a lip brush apply metallic gold eyeshadow (the same you’ve used to accentuate eyes) on lips.

TIP: LAYER pigment and gloss to build your own shade of gold: make it brighter, add a pink sheen or make it more bronze, the options are endless!
