Proudly South African Aria, 4, Slays New York Fashion Week

She may only be 4 years old and 2 feet tall, but everyone around her has taken notice of her arrival, as photographers swarm around her, cars stop, and fashion editors scramble to take photos with their cellphones as if it were Beyoncé walking in.  Aria De Chicchis is one of New York Fashion Week’s youngest celebs, and her mother, Pam Mbatani, of Cape Town, chatted to me just outside the Bibhu Mohapatra show. “Aria has a natural gift for performing and has been a model since she was 2 years old.  Her first big campaign was with Uniqlo.”

After attending many red carpet events over the last year, the vivacious South African-Italian mini model has caught the attention of many global celebrities and publicists.  On Instagram, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, posted “@aria_is_chicc you killed it lil mama!”

As for Aria, the little fashionista knows how to work it! In addition to supporting South African designer Laduma Ngxokolo backstage at his “Made In Africa” show, Aria showed off her networking skills by presenting her business card to celebrity singer Deborah Cox.

And of course, she was sitting front row with rapper Young Prince. Watch this space for more of this fabulous little fashionista!
