About Last Night: SAFW Day 2
SAFW Day 2 was spectacular and the pieces we saw blew our minds! From luxurious beachwear to African inspired embroideries. The looks were nothing short of amazing.
Starting off with Beach Clut, the silhouettes wee soft, delicate and beautiful as each look walked down the runway. We felt a bit 90’s inspired with the high bikini bottoms and prints. These looks also oozed elegance and sophistication.
Judith Atlelier has always been the designer that is extremely smart when it comes to manipulating delicate fabrics. The collection was feminine and had a luxurious feel. We loved the texture and the rouching trend, which is a trend that every woman is slowly adapting to. All her pieces were made in such a unique way and complimented a women figure.
Colourful, strong and fierce was predominant in Erre’s collection through the use of colour and the detailing of the pieces. The collection featured a lot of balloon detailed sleeves and each piece made a statement without having too much going on.
MANTSHO BY PALESA MOKUBUNG
This collection was a beautiful bright surprise! We were obsessed with each of the Avant Garde pieces. The way African print was manipulated, we don’t think it’s ever been manipulated in a modern and edgy way like this collection. African print is a statement piece, as is what you choose to pair it with can be tricky, but that wasn’t the case for Mantso. Everything worked perfectly together and was cohesive. The tye-dyes, print, colours and detailing created movement and a statement.
