Designers are the celebrities of the fashion industry, and we honestly don’t know where we would be without them! They have all the fashion knowledge and know how to revive trends and build total lifestyle brands. Women designers have really set a blazing trail in the fashion industry. They have changed how people dress and disrupted the typical stereotypes. It hasn’t been easy and we are all here for it. Not only have they changed the fashion game but also the way women are perceived.
COCO CHANEL Coco Chanel is the epitome of classic and timeless. All the pieces created were staples that would last you a lifetime. Remember the little black dress and the tweed jacket? Pieces that have become statement pieces and a must-have in every wardrobe. And because it’s such a must have, different brands have tried mimicking the two staples (which works for us because then we can afford it!) Coco Chanel was the first designer to use the material used for underwear for everyday staples. She also was the first to create boxy, shorter and easy to move pieces, freeing women from tight corsets and uncomfortable clothing. If you look at this from a different light, she created garments that could make you feel comfortable and sexy with no fuss, moving away from the norm of restricted clothing.
One of our favourite designers that was responsible for the convergence of high fashion and punk. Vivienne always addressed everything from civil rights to climate change in her work while creating fashion. Her stories behind the clothing played such a huge impact and reached many in the way they thought and did things in their everyday lives.
CAROLINA HERRERACarolina is the epitome of effortless elegance which fits right in with the majority of female entrepreneurs spending hours and time on building an empire, and lets not forget those who also have a household to run. Her iconic take of a white button down and taffeta skirt has become an evening staple, changing the way women dress up. Which also just makes it easy to dress and look polished at the same time.
RUBICONWe’ve loved Rubicon since she first began in 2002. Rubicon’s brand is for the confident and ambitious women. Her brand has a sense of power and history and that can be a guideline of remembering where you come from and where you want to be.Rubicon is known for using statement designs like frills and ruffles. Rubicon’s pretty and feminine styles are still strong, fierce and bold pieces.
