What’s In Danica Patrick’s Bag?

WE know Danica Patrick as the NASCAR beauty and yoga enthusiast, but she’s also skincare conscious and has developed a skincare brand, along with a team of doctors, called Belair Skin Science. That’s not all, she also has her own fitness programme: Pretty Intense, has a line of fitness clothing and is the proprietor of Somnium wine. Where she gets time for anything else, we’re sure we don’t know. But whether she’s walking the dogs, making some kind of new art, cooking, going in the garden, doing some yoga, or working out, she always had these at hand.

Bring It On!

‘I don’t have a desk job – I spend at least four nights a week away from home, so I have to be prepared with all the essentials: nail clippers, Tylenol, tampons, floss. I’m ready for anything.’

Face Framing

SHE’S always seen at the sports track with her signature sunglass shape: aviators. That’s another item we see spilling out of her bag. ‘Aviator sunglasses fit my face really well, so I like to stick to that shape.’

All About Skin

Her skincare routine is straightforward, but potent, ‘I have an active serum I use in the morning. Then I use tinted moisturizer over that for SPF and colour. At night, I use a trentanoid (a Vitamin A derivative) cream to reproduce healthy collagen. I think moisture goes a long way.’

Retinol 0.5: R1 350, SkinCeuticals and UV Shield Effaclar Duo (+) SPF30: R250, La Roche Posay

Caffeine Kick

HOW does she usually start her day? ‘With breakfast. No, I lied – with coffee.’

Staying Healthy

‘I work out a lot. I lift weights to stay strong for my job. My routine includes a lot of functional training, like squats and lunges with an upper body move, for core stabilization. Cardio is also important and it feels good to work my lungs and breathe deep. I think of taking care of my body from the inside out, especially as I’m getting older, and eat foods because they’re healthy.’
