GET make-up that wows!

SOMETIMES we can have a love/hate relationship with our make-up kits. Some days new inspirations can come your way on Instagram and Pinterest and then you can’t wait to get home to try them out, and other days you settle for your regular liquid line and lipgloss combo. But we’re here to challenge you to spice up your facebeat. This week’s model Grace Kitenge shows us how to get a bold and daring make-up look. Wear all these together in one standout look or take each one on a test drive by themselves. Lips, eyes and skinspo for days! Beauty risk-takers, pay close attention: do you dare to wear?

Making Eyes

FEW things are as eye-brightening as bronze and gold eye make-up. These colours catch light in all the right ways to make your eyes look slightly larger than they actually are. Using a deep bronze shade, create a shadow in the crease of your lids. Then sweep a bright gold shade onto lids and inner corners. Blend into the crease and shade beneath the eye for a subtle, but gleaming effect.

Queen Of Sheen

HIGHLIGHTING has become a necessity when it comes to doing make-up. It’s as mandatory as volumising mascara! Before highlighting, you’ll need to build up a solid foundation. Start with a light-infusing makeup primer, which can help contribute to a luminous look. Even out your skin tone and cover up any imperfections with foundation. Time for the (shining) star of the show: powder highlighter. Use a fan brush to dust the powder above the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, on the inner corners of eyes and above the cupid’s bow. Set your skin with translucent powder.

Rebel Pout

BOLD lips don’t always have to be combined with little to no other make-up (although this is the easiest way to pull off a dark lippie), it can also look great with equally bold brows or a seriously smoked eye. But if this daring look is too OTT for your liking, may we suggest a contouring eyeshadow shade? A single wash of diffused colour gives dimension to eyes without stealing the spotlight from a loud lip.

TIP: Adding simple tribal art, like dots and lines, to your look can add a standout statement for free-spirited beauty.
