Local songstress, Zahara, is making waves after she announced that she has inked a multiple-date residency at the popular Emperors Palace hotel, casino and entertainment destination – making her the first South African musician to sign such a lucrative deal.
While details around the exciting contract are still being kept under wraps, the star made the announcement last week by sharing videos of herself stamping her handprints in clay on her Instagram page. “I’m the first to do it and we’re still finalising the deal. I’m extremely excited about it,” she says.
Zahara is one of the highest-paid musicians in South Africa today, bringing in around R100 000 a show – so she is expected to bring home quite a hefty sum with this new deal.
