The Voice SA winner Richard Stirton released his debut single ‘What Tears Me The Most’ and it has already reached the Number 1 spot on the South African iTunes charts!
Richard recently recorded his first original single, What Tears Me The Most, over a number of days in Johannesburg in early June. This heart-warming single was penned by Brit Awarding winning artist James Bay and is perfectly suited to Richard’s organic, authentic voice and magnetic sincerity.
Talking of his single, Richard says “I hope that people are able to connect with the song on a number of levels, but especially a lyrical connection, because at the end of the day music is all about the message.”
Richard is currently working on material for a full length album set for release in early August

Is this real life? I cannot explain what an unbelievably amazing feeling it is to wake up and see my single at number 1. I really wasn't expecting this. It is a completely different ball game releasing an original and to have such an amazing response from you all means the world to me. For me it is all about making a connection with others. I would just like to thank everyone involved from @umgsa for giving me the opportunity to get my sound out there to @denholmharding and JP from B-Sharp studios. We worked tirelessly at the studio to get this track out on time and it really would not have been possible without their unbelievable efforts. I feel so blessed to have been able to work with such amazing people on my first track because I know how much first impressions count. Thank you all so much. You have been amazing. I struggle to fathom that people are actually paying money for my music. I hope you all have a great Saturday and let's see if we can stay at #1 for the iTunes top 40 on 94.7/94.5. Thank you, thank you. #blessed #lucky #grateful #surreal #music #single #WhatTearsMeTheMost #ThankYou
