After making Africa proud on the America’s Got Talent stage and reaching the final with their celebration of African music, the Ndlovu Youth Choir has just returned to South Africa and they’ve got some big news. The choir is proud to announce that they’ve officially signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Entertainment, a global joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment Africa.
“We are extremely excited and honoured to be working with Simon Cowell, SYCO Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment Africa. Our young singers represent the talent and potential of millions of young South Africans. Our nation is bursting with talent and we look forward to sharing the beauty of our music with the world. If you can dream it, you can do it!” conductor Ralf Schmitt says as the confirms the news.
The choir has had an incredible year. Their cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ became a viral phenomenon and currently has over four million views on YouTube. Then, the group captured the hearts of millions of people around the world as they celebrated their African heritage on the world’s biggest stage – America’s Got Talent. There, they performed hits like ‘My African Dream’, ‘Waka Waka’, ‘Beautiful Day’ and ‘Higher’, which they performed alongside Kygo at the show’s finale.
This is an amazing next step for the Ndlovu Youth Choir and we have a feeling we’re going to be hearing a lot more from the group in the coming months.
