The Kiffness Urges South Africans To Stay At Home With His Incredible Parody Of Toto’s ‘Africa’

The Kiffness knows how to make a statement. At the moment, the star is taking on SAMPRA and the SABC to ensure that artists are paid the royalties they are entitled to, dropped a new single titled ‘Wiggle’ with Nathan Ro and continues to make South Africans laugh during this chaotic time. However, he wants his audience to remember that staying at home is the best thing we can do to stop the COVID-19 virus from spreading – so he made a song about it.

The star reworked Toto’s smash hit ‘Africa’ to help spread this important message. “I noticed that some people weren’t taking self quarantining too seriously so I thought it was time to bring in our generation’s biggest anthem to combat the biggest pandemic of the decade,” David explains in a recent interview. “The original is the greatest song of all time in my personal opinion. It was so fun recreating my own version of the song and damn, I learned a lot about harmony arrangement through the process.”

The song has been met with widespread acclaim and the star has urged all producers to push themselves professionally while in quarantine and continue perfecting their craft. “Now that you’re stuck at home – if you ever want to improve your production, try recreating some of your favourite songs. You’re bound to learn something!” he says.
