If you thought this year couldn’t get any better, then The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) comes through with a bang. It was announced on Wednesday morning that Somizi Somgaga Mhlongo will be returning as co-host at this year’s #SAMA23 – which will be held in Bokone Bophirima at the Sun City Superbowl on May 27 – alongside funny and vivacious award-winning comedienne Tumi Morake.

Putting these two together is sure to make it the funniest and most entertaining awards ceremony ever! With the combo of Somizi, known for his androgynous fashion and enormous personality, and the ever-so-bubbly Tumi Morake, who is celebrated for breaking boundaries and poking fun at literally everyone in the industry, celebrities will have to make sure that they put their A-game on and slay the red carpet. With that said, this year’s SAMAs are proving to become the best ones yet.

With performances from the biggest artists and appearances from MOST of the biggest names in the industry, it’s going to be a must see.

#SAMA23 being Tumi Morake’s first SAMAs gig, the exited personality took to Facebook to share the good news with her followers, writing: “The exited *drumroll* I have the honor of hosting this year’s SAMA’s with the incredibly talented Somizi Mhlongo #berekamosadi #hauweng”

The SAMAs event will be broadcast live on SABC1 at 20h00, and those without TVs can stream them live on all SAMA Digital Platforms and via the official SAMA App.
