Academy Awards Looks To Live By!
FROM bright colours, show stopping hair and make-up to embellished gowns galore, the fashion and beauty game is strong. The Oscars never disappoint when it comes to fashion and beauty and, sure, there are always a few misses, but we still get excited to see what Hollywood biggest names steps out in. You also get a helping hand on some of the latest trends, giving you an idea on how to incorporate it into your wardrobe or how trends look on different skin tones and silhouettes. Here are our bests and worsts.
GAGA’s look is rooted in rich, shimmery variations of rose and copper paired with soft lipstick. Her Marilyn Monroe-style ‘do is appropriate. But it just might be time to step away from the brow bleach.
A middle part ponytail with volume is hard to pull off, but on sultry Sofia is looks so chic.
WHILE normally a fan of a bold lip and soft eye, Kerry opted for an inky eye and nude lip. It’s easy to see why we love (and copy) it. The trick? Tone down the upturned eye with matte skin and just a bit of contour.
DAISY’s insanely awesome, super-structured futuristic bun was a hit, which allowed her strong brows to take centre stage.
OLIVIA injected the red carpet with a major dose of bright, sunny orange, while keeping her eyes neutral.
AN elegant plait was woven along Olivia’s hairline, which transformed into a bun at the nape of her neck. Her hair was soft and ethereal, but a smoky peach and gold eye with earthy tones pay homage to Olivia’s edginess.
ONE word: Skin. Rooney nailed the fresh-but-matte look. There’s contour, but very subtly. We love Rooney’s ethereal elvish, almost goth-like delicate beauty.
Obviously, Priyanka threads her brows, because they are thin and angular. Maybe too much so. But her brownish-berry lip colour is soft and creamy, so we might just forgive her.
USUALLY not one to make it onto best beauty lists, Andra Day knocked it outta the park this time. The dark lips, the spikey lashes, the hair, the tight lining round the eyes, we could go on about this for days.
