OSCARS 2018: All The Red Carpet Looks

After the Golden Globes #TimesUp dresscode, there was no dress code for the Oscars and celebrities pulled all the stops and stepped on the carpet to make an impact. We love the dramatic ball gowns and bold colours seen on the carpet. From Whoopi Goldberg to Andra Day, let’s see what the stars wore to the 2018 Oscars hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

VIOLA DAVIS

Viola Davis stood out for all the right reasons in a shocking hot pink number by Michael Kors and paired the gown with a matching pink clutch and Norman Silverman diamonds.

LESLIE MANN

This gown had just the right amount of drama! Leslie wore a red lace gown with floral embroidery by Zac Posen. She’s known to always keep things elegant and classy. We love this!!

DANAI GURIRA

The cast of Black Panther stepped on the carpet shining and wearing some of the best looks! First up is Danai who wore a strapless a pale pink Gabriela Heast gown with a train and Messika jewellery. This colour looked gorgeous on Danai’s skin tone.

TREND: METALLIC DRESSES:

LUPITA NYONG’O

Lupita stood out from the crowd in a glittery gold gown by Atelier Versace which featured black studded detailing that ran from her right shoulder down to her hip. Trust Lupita to always shake things up on any carpet. This look was simply a vision!

SANDRA BULLOCK

The oceans eight star grabbed everyone’s attention in a halter neck black and gold sequin gown by Louis Vuitton. We love the ombre effect of this gown including the flirty flounce detail on the hip.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE

Jennifer looked beautiful in glittering sweet-heart Dior Pre-fall 2018 silk gown which featured thin straps and pleated skirt. Even though she looks gorgeous in this gown, we think she played it a bit safe.

GAL GADOT

Wonder Woman star Gal as always looked regal. The star wore a metallic Givenchy Spring 2018 Haute Couture dress with dramatic layers of silver and gunmetal fringe. We love the 1920s feel this gown had.

BLUE QUEENS:

JENNIFER GARNER

Jennifer Garner sizzled and bought old Hollywood glam in an electric blue Atelier Versace gown with a ruched bodice and cape accent.

NICOLE KIDMAN

Nicole also chose to wear blue but in a darker version for the Oscars and we glad she made that choice as she looked absolutely breath-taking in strapless sculptured thigh-high slit gown by Armani Prive. She’s never been one to shy away from drama and colour and once again she nailed it.

EMILY BLUNT

Emily opted for a Victorian inspired blue Schiaparelli gown with tulle shoulders, frilly bodice and dramatic train. She always looks amazing on the carpet, can’t remember if she’s ever been on any worst dressed list.

LOUISE ROE

New mom Louise Roe looked stunning in a blue/white water-colour floral print gown by Monique Lhuillier.

TARAJI P.HENSON

Wow!! Taraji looked sexy in a sheer black Vera Wang gown featuring a thigh high slit, cut-outs and draped sleeves.

ZENDAYA

Perfection! Zendaya walked the carpet looking like a Grecian goddess in a one shoulder voluminous sleeve brown chiffon Giambattista Valicouture number. She accessorized with diamond earrings and a statement diamond bracelet.

OCTAVIA SPENCER

Octavia vowed in an emerald Brandon Maxwell custom gown.

MARGOT ROBBIE

Actress Margot looked gorgeous in a strapless figure hugging white Chanel Haute Couture gown, which included textured draping, jewelled detail around her décolletage and a layered skirt.

UHMM…:

SALMA HAYEK

Mmm… we don’t know how we feel about this look, we have a love and hate relationship about this gown. Salma wore a shimmery pale purple gown with layered ruffles and silver jewelled detail around her décolletage. We think this look would’ve suited a taller frame, it’s a bit heavy for Salma’s small frame.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG

Err… interesting choice Whoopi! Whoopi wore a green/yellow and purple floral print gown that kind of looked dated and like a curtain.
