Met Gala 2018 Red Carpet

New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art rolled out the red carpet for the Met Gala for the annual opening party for its spring exhibition. The theme this year was: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the catholic Imagination. The by invite only event is a fundraiser for the museum’s costume institute. Sure there were celebrities that went all out and showed up in some of the most memorable ensembles. This year they got it right and like every red carpet fashion event, you will always get some that missed it and need to fire their stylist.

Katy Perry donned six-foot angel wings to pair with a metallic gold Versace mini dress and metallic gold thigh high boots.Rihanna channeled the pope, wearing a pearl and jewel-encrusted mitre and robe designed by Maison Margiela by John Galliano.

Blake Lively stole the show in Atelier Versace which featured sheer panels on both sides and was covered in so many beads that it took 600 hours to embroider the bodice alone. She walked the carpet covered in precious stone Dolce & Gabbana gown with intricate head-wear that featured incredible detailing and jewels, but it also included an actual nativity scene.Jennifer Connelly wearing Louis Vuitton.Zendaya wearing Versace. She has always been one to try something new and make a powerful statement. She donned the armor of one of Catholicism’s most famed icons: Saint Joan of Arc.
