He was known amongst colleagues in the entertainment industry and his fans as one of the trailblazers of the hip-hop genre, and every time Linda ‘ProKid’ Mkhize took to the stage, the result was pure magic.

It was confirmed yesterday (August 9) that the Sekela and Ghetto Science hitmaker had passed on following a severe seizure. A statement issued on behalf of the family said that ProKid had been visiting friends on the night of Wednesday, August 8, when the seizure struck. Paramedics were called to the scene, but they were unable to resuscitate him. He was just 37.

Tributes continue to pour in for ProKid. Little over a month before Pro’s shock passing, he showed off just why he was the ‘ProKing’ of his game, finishing up a mesmerising gig held at the Basha Uhuru music festival. As usual, fans were enthralled at the talent he held, evidenced by the video clips of the performance posted on social media.
