Locally written play The Fall is set to headline at The South African State Theatre’s 10th Youth Expression Festival.
The critically acclaimed play The Fall reflects on the recent University of Cape Town’s #RhodesMustFall movement.
It’s a vital new production by University of Cape Town Drama graduates who share their personal experiences during the #RhodesMustFall, #FeesMustFall and subsequent student movement protests that swept South Africa during 2015 and 2016. The play tackles social issues such as race, class and gender, as well as the ideologies of patriarchy and sexism.

The Fall made its debut at the Baxter Theatre Centre in Cape Town and was recently performed at the Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland, where it received raving reviews.
It features along with many other local productions that include theatre, dance, poetry and various other performance art forms are part of this year’s State Theatre 10th Youth Expression Festival showcasing in the month of June.
