Actress and TV presenter Pearl Thusi is one of the most hardworking celebs in Mzansi, starring in local and international movies and series, and raising her beautiful daughter Thandolwethu at the same time.
The Catching Feelings star shared a blog post while shooting the American TV series Quantico. The post was about motherhood, bad moms and everything centred on raising children. The also dropped some very useful advise.
Speaking about letting your child choose to be who they want to be, Pearl wrote: “This is because I don’t want her to ever compromise her own happiness for anyone else, including me. Our children didn’t come here for us – they came here through us and are on this journey on their own.”
In the post, Pearl shared a lot of her experience and she also emphasised how mothers are put on Earth to shape one’s life and journey: “Your mom was a drug addict, alcoholic? Damn, I’m sorry. Everything happens for a reason though – she was still better suited for your journey and destiny and it’s precisely why some of the most influential people come from traumatic homes. For whatever reason- the difference is the using your strengths and power for type of choices you make. Make healthy choices. There is a reason for everything,” she wrote. “Being a parent is a blessing in many ways. The world gets to see this mini-replica of you take shape and become something beyond your wildest dreams and Thando is just that.”
We love that Pearl loves sharing photos of herself and her daughter on social media – we can’t get enough. See our favourite pictures of Pearl and Thando:
