This week, the finale of the 15th season of Idols South Africa took place live from the Big Top Arena at Carnival City and saw Luyolo Yiba walk away with the crown. The finale also saw performances by the likes of DJ Zinhle, Samthing Soweto, Boity, Vusi Nova, Sho Majozi and Season 14 winner Yanga but while most gave their A-game, many were disappointed with Samthing Soweto’s performance and now, he’s apologized to fans for his lacklustre showing.
In a video message posted on Twitter, the singer says “Askies I’m sorry I see I have spoiled a day for many people, other people had to switch their remotes off. I am really sorry. I don’t really have an excuse. It was just one of those days. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to redeem myself.”
The star adds that the Idols stage has always been a hard place for him to perform and asked South Africa to forgive him. “I hear you loud and clear … I tired. I’m human. Sorry, South Africa,” he said.

DJ Zinhle, Sjava, Andile Ncube, Sho Madjozi, DJ Fresh, Sizwe Dhlomo, Refilwe Modiselle and many other celebs saluted the singer for being open and honest with his fans and promised that this is just a bump in the road for him.
