“My home is my haven where I can be in absolute harmony and comfort with my beautiful family. It’s also my workspace, where I can let my creative juices flow, whilst taking in the view. Lastly, I love to entertain, so house parties are a regular occurrence.” His down-to-earth personality reflects in his house and we loved hanging out and talking décor with the chart-topping music man. Take a look at the place he calls home.

It’s no surprise what Daniel’s favourite room in his home is: “The music studio. I spend most of my time in there creating music and doing what I love, and the bonus is the view that usually adds to the inspiration when I create.” If you’re trying to get the most done from your home office or are lucky enough to have a room simply for creative pursuits, remember that organisation is key. Keep things clutter free to maximise creativity and productivity.

There’s no doubt that music is Daniel’s passion, and it’s apparent with the way that it flows into the other rooms of his home. Not just limited to his studio, books on musical artists and bands, instruments and artwork displaying music greats can be found throughout the home. “I like anything that has a musical theme to it. My fiancé and I both have similar taste, so anything that is neutral, modern or has a rock n’ roll element, then I’m sold.” Simple décor makes up the family’s living room, with personal touches added to make the home uniquely their own.

Abandon uniformity! Two-tone kitchen cabinets are a major décor trend for 2020 and beyond. In Daniel’s kitchen matt white and grey cabinets are set off with black marble countertops. Whether your space is big or small, a two-toned effect adds instant
drama to any well-designed space. The colours and finishes used here are modern, but the shaker style cabinetry nods to classic kitchen design.

Undoubtedly the cutest room in the house; Daniel’s son must have felt right at home from the very first day! It’s a classic boy’s nursery, kitted out with white furniture and decorated in shades of blue. We absolutely love the tiny tables and chairs, adorable artwork above the compactum and cute printed rug. We also spotted a few musical instruments in the nursery. Will baby Baron be following in dad’s footsteps…?

A great patio set brings comfort and function to any outdoor space. With a spacious table and easy-to-use, comfortable chairs, Daniel’s outdoor entertainment area quickly becomes a second family room during the warm weather months. “The first thing that caught our eye was the perfect view and the setting by the pool, the palms and the entertainment area. When we were house-hunting, this was literally the only house we looked at. It kind of feels like we have our own little rockstar home in the Hollywood hills of Joburg.”
