Muvhango actor Dingaan Mokebe ka Khumalo is apparently set to appear in court on Monday after being nabbed by police for allegedly assaulting a woman in a racial road-rage incident.
Sunday World reports that Dingaan was embroiled in a physical altercation with a woman named Chaan Botha on the Xavier Road offramp on the N1 highway in Johannesburg.
The tabloid claims that, according to police statements which it has seen, Dingaan alleged that the woman used the K-word and slapped him.
However, Chaan’s statement disputed Dingaan’s version of events, and claimed that he “punched” her in the face several times.
In her statement she claimed that Dingaan blocked her car and made her open her window.
“The complainant opened the window and he pushed her on the face, saying she was a ‘white b**ch’ that needed to be raped,” read part of the statement that the tabloid quoted.
Dingaan, who laid a counter charge of assault against Chaan, said he planned to take the matter to the Human Rights Commission.
“I’m taking this matter to the Human Rights Commission because white women cannot go around calling people k*****s and then go to the police and lie they were violated, because they know the law is on their side,” he said.
Police spokesperson captain Mvela Masondo confirmed the incident but declined to reveal the suspect’s identity as he had not appeared in court at the time.
Muvhango has not yet made any comment on the reports.
