Kelly Khumalo has come out guns blazing against the cyberbullying and ongoing accusations of allegedly being involved in the 2014 murder of her then boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa.
In the wake of recent tabloid reports, which claimed that arrests in the murder case are imminent, Kelly’s name was yet again dragged into the mix.
The late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was killed at his then girlfriend and singer, Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus, Johannesburg.
Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, the singer poured her heart and anger out in a statement.
“One thing life has taught me is that life will never be easy or fair for a woman like me or for women like me. I often think maybe it was the way I was designed? Or I somehow deserve and attract all the hate and accusations that are constantly thrown at me or maybe I’m just an easy target,” she said.
Kelly added that she’s never been someone who expected the world to feel sorry for her and that she isn’t going to start now, but this doesn’t mean that she’s not human or doesn’t have feelings.
“If you strongly feel, believe and have evidence that I had something to do with my daughter’s father’s killing or I’m somehow protecting the killers? Then by all means necessary do lock me away and throw away the key.”
Kelly added that the only thing she is guilty of is falling in love with a “dishonest married man”.
“And if that’s what I’m being punished for so be it. But I’m not gonna sit back and let you abuse and accuse me of something I have nothing to do with. I have co-operated with the law and given all the necessary information,” she added.
The singer made it clear that she would not “take the fall” for something she knows nothing about and will “fight” till her last breath.
Sunday World reported that the arrest of seven people for their involvement in the incident is imminent.
The tabloid claims that three celebrities and a top cop will be arrested for defeating the ends of justice, while the mother of one of the suspects and two other people are also on the police’s radar.
A fourth suspect is apparently set to be arrested for Senzo’s murder.
