Go bokke! Celebrities react to the Springboks making it to Rugby World Cup finals

South Africans all over the world are celebrating after the Springboks secured yet another win at the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The boks narrowly beat Wales 19-16 in a nail-biting match that left many on the edge of their seats.

South Africa will now face England in the final.

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and the rest of the team have been overwhelmed by the support they have received since day one of the World Cup.

“We get all the messages from South Africa and it is really special to see how the people at home have bought into what we are doing here and how they are supporting us,” he said after Sunday’s match.

Siya revealed where he was when South Africa last won the world cup in 2007.

He said he watched the final at a local tavern as a teenager because he did not have a TV at his house.

South Africans were beaming with pride after the match with many pictures and videos being shared of their celebrations.

Celebrities also joined in the excitement.

Poppy Ntshongwana has been following the World Cup since day one. She was live tweeting during the SA vs Wales match.

“This is such a physical and emotional encounter… #RSAvWAL #RWC19” she tweeted.

Poppy added after the Boks’ win: “I’m shaking.”

The radio personality urged South Africans to visualise the cup coming home.

“As a country we need to spend the week visualising Siya Kolisi and the boys lifting the Webb Ellis trophy. It’s ours !!!” she wrote.

Anele Mdoda was equally excited. She shared a clip of he Springboks celebrating in their locker room.

Cricket star Graeme Smith watched the game with his three children.

“#StrongerTogether well done #BOKKE,” he tweeted.

Zelda la Grange showed her spicy side on Twitter when popular English broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson told South Africa to “bring it on” during the finals.

“To all my South African friends. Bring it on,” he tweeted.

Zelda replied: “You have friends?”

South African actress Lesley-Ann Brandt supported the Boks all the way from Los Angeles, where she is based.

She shared a picture of her husband and son looked shocked during the tense match.

The Lucifer star joked that she was ready to coach the team for the final.
