5 Local stars who are awesome step-parents

Blending two families is not always easy but these local stars are proof that being a stepparent can bring a lot of happiness.

From dropping them off at school to helping them with their homework, there is nothing they wouldn’t do to make their stepchildren feel special.

Here’s a look at some of SA’s awesome celebrity stepparents.

Phat Joe and Palesa Morgan

Phat Joe and his fiancé Palesa Morgan are gearing up for the birth of their first child together. The model is already stepmom to Phat Joe’s teenage son, Brooklyn Khambule – who adores her just as much as his dad does.

Brooklyn helped Joe pop the question in 2016. He revealed that Palesa takes him to school, helps him with his homework and cheers him up when he is sad. Palesa enjoys every moment of being his stepmom.

“From model, to stepmom to aunty, to mom to be. This life is beautifully planned for the unexpected,” she recently wrote on Instagram.

Kelly Khumalo and Chad da Don

Chad da Don and Kelly Khumalo’s blended family is the stuff dreams are made of. The rapper accepted Kelly’s children, Christian and Thingo, with open arms from day one. He attends their school functions and takes them out on fun family dates.

“I could never ask for a better role model for my son @chad_da_don_official the God in you reflects on everything you do,” Kelly wrote on Instagram.

Tbo Touch and Nandi Molefe

Not only is Tbo Touch’s wife Nandi Molefe a great stepmom to his sons but she also gets on very well with their mother, Thuli Thabethe. Nandi took to Instagram on Mother’s Day to send Thuli a special message.

“Happy Mother’s Day!! Or should I say; Happy Co-Mother’s Day!! You are a Queen and an incredible mother. I’m so glad I get to do this journey with you (something you’ve shared with me). I’ve learned so much. Be blessed and keep shining,” Nandi wrote.

Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali

Enhle Mbali and DJ Black Coffee have two little boys together. The actress is also stepmom to the DJ’s two other children from a previous relationship. Enhle opened up about being a stepmom during an interview on Real Talk in 2017.

“There’s a lot that happens in my psyche that I think a lot of stepmothers also go through. It’s a lot. He’s not ‘mine’ so I almost have to treat him a certain way so that he doesn’t feel unloved,” she said.

Pearl Modiadie and Nkululeko Buthelezi

Pearl Modiadie played stepmom to Nkululeko Buthelezi’s children for many years. While they have since called it quits, Pearl took her role as a stepmom seriously and did everything she could to make their blended family work.

“We all have a mutually respectful relationship – they’re such great kids and because we all live together, it was important that we build a foundation of trust from the beginning, and to understand each other’s roles in our lives and ensure that every action comes from a place of love,” she told True Love in an interview.
