Thank you to the @refugees for the incredible honour of being appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR! I will carry this title with all the pride it deserves and continue to be the voice of the voiceless and share love and hope where there is none! #doitluquluqu #unhcr #unitednations #unhcrgoodwillambassador
“I am incredibly thrilled to be appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR,” Manas said. “Since my involvement with the The Luquluqu Tribe, I have had the honour and privilege to meet resilient and courageous people who have escaped war and persecution in search of safety. Listening to their stories, I am more compelled than ever to advocate for their cause.”
Her first official role as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador will be to participate in the #StepForSafety walk in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday, 10 February 2019 at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens.
The walk encourages people to walk in solidarity with people who have been forced to flee war, conflict, violence and persecution. Visit their website for more information.
