Kwesta tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony to his wife Yolanda recently and, naturally, the big day had a massive effect on the rapper. So, he turned to poetry as he wrote down in words the love he feels for his new wife. Today, that poem becomes the rapper’s next single as he drops ‘Khethile Khethile’ today – and the music video features visuals from his big day!
Kwesta is joined by Makwa, Tshego AMG and Thee Legacy on the track which he says is one of the most special songs he’s written to date. “ I really want the honesty of my life to be reflected in my music. This song encapsulates my feeling of gratitude for my beautiful wife, Yolanda, and everybody that has allowed me to be myself and grow in this industry,” Kwesta tells us. “It is a new chapter of my life and I want to share that with everyone so that they can feel what I feel and understand the state of mind that I’m in. I worked with Makwa, Tshego AMG and modern scathamiya group, Thee Legacy.”
What makes the song even more special is that the video features footage from the rapper’s big day. “At the wedding I didn’t even know that the video was being recorded by my good friend, K-Zaka. He asked to follow me around during the day and as soon as he showed me all the footage I said let’s put the music to it.” The wedding was a star-studded affair and the video features cameos from the likes of Yanga Chief, Kid X, Thabsie, JR, LootLove, Reason, Idols SA winner Musa and included performances from the legendary Ringo Madlingozi and talented Vusi Nova.
