The South African Music Awards are taking place this weekend at Sun City as the country celebrates the very best music South Africa has to offer. Besides the awards, viewers at home can look forward to incredible performances and medleys from some of the country’s biggest acts.
The Throwback segment will feature memorable tracks performed by legendary bands Bongo Maffin, Trompies and many more kwaito legends. On the Traditional front, brace yourself for a medley of dance and vocals led by the legend of the bow and arrow Madosini as well as the iconic Mahotella Queens. Dancers from Tswelelang Cultural Dancers and VhaVenda Cultural Group complete the performance.
Meanwhile, SAMA25 nominees Sjava and Mlindo The Vocalist will have the Superbowl on its feet as they perform in the Maskandi/Urban section along with Mbuzeni and others. Powerful voices will raise the roof as gospel legend Rebecca Malope joins the likes of SAMA25 nominee Ntokozo Mbambo for a rousing Gospel segment.
The award show will close in style as some of the best acts in kwaito, gqom and amapiano take to the stage. Expect to see Kelly Khumalo, Sho Madjozi, DJ Sumbody, Dladla Mshunqisi and Mobi Dixon do their thing live.
