The latest Star Wars sequel, Deadpool and Pitch Perfect 2 were multiple winners at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards on Saturday night (09Apr16).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens picked up three trophies, including Movie of the Year and a Best Breakthrough Performance for Daisy Ridley, while the Pitch Perfect sequel and Deadpool were double winners, picking up prizes for Best Comedic Performance (Ryan Reynolds for Deadpool) and Best Ensemble (Pitch Perfect 2).

There were also big victories for Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio and Charlize Theron, who claimed the night’s Best Male and Female Performance awards, while Will Smith took home the Generation Award, and Melissa McCarthy was presented with the Comedic Genius Award.
