Rosanna Arquette has ditched high heels for good.
The 59-year-old actress revealed her style choice at the Women In Film Gala in Beverly Hills earlier this week, where she wore a white tuxedo jacket and silver sequinned trousers with silver round-toe flats.
“I’m in flats because my feet hurt,” Arquette told Footwear News on the red carpet. “I’m getting too old. Why am I punishing myself? Who is it really for? It’s not for me, so I decided to be comfortable.”
However, comfort isn’t the sole reason the Desperately Seeking Susan star is favouring flats.
“I don’t know how to walk in heels still; I’m the worst. I look like I’m dressing up and I’m three years old and I’m in my mom’s heels,” she joked.
The last time Arquette tried to walk in heels was a turn on the runway for the Heart Truth Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection in February, and she confessed it was “embarrassing.”
Another famous face joining the actress in wearing flats was Amy Poehler, who teamed a pair of white Nike sneakers with a black blazer and trousers.
The Parks and Recreation star was honoured with the Entrepreneur in Entertainment Award for nurturing the advancement of female collaborators, and other winners on the night included Issa Rae, who received the Emerging Entrepreneur Award, and Cathy Schulman, who was presented with The Crystal Award for Advocacy in Entertainment.
Another honouree was Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, who received the Max Mara Face of the Future Award at the annual gala, which recognises the entrepreneurial achievements of women in the movie industry.
