Rebel Wilson’s stylist helped her overcome red carpet dress shame

Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson’s stylist has helped the funnywoman get serious about red carpet fashion.

The actress admits fame didn’t come easy for her and her early red carpet experiences were awful because she didn’t have the confidence a great outfit provides.

That all changed when she hooked up with Elizabeth Stewart, who revamped her look and made the fake smile she put on for the cameras real.

“When Pitch Perfect came out, I became internationally famous, and people were hanging outside my house to take my photo,” she tells InStyle magazine. “You have to think about it (what you wear) a bit more than a normal person, but I’m a pretty low-maintenance chick.

“Through working with my stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, I’ve learned all these little tips and tricks – and they really work. Then you feel more comfortable when you have to dress up.”

Rebel now feels more confident than ever, revealing she once had to skip a big event because she didn’t have anything to wear.

“I remember I didn’t even go to a friend’s wedding in my 20s because I didn’t know where to buy a dress in my size,” the Isn’t It Romantic star explains. “Now it is the opposite. Now I have a wardrobe full of custom Givenchy.”

But her confidence hasn’t helped her nail down a romance, and she reveals the last guy she was really interested in could handle her level of fame.

“Someone I really liked was so intimidated and got a lot of anxiety and couldn’t have a relationship with me because I’m in the public eye,” she tells the magazine. “They didn’t want that, so that kind of sucked.”
