Priyanka Chopra only began to accept the changes in her body shape when she entered her early thirties.
The Bollywood icon and former Miss World may be one of the most beautiful women in the world, however, in a new interview for the August 2019 issue of U.S. Elle magazine, Priyanka confessed she has only recently begun to be at ease with the way she looks.
“It started happening to me in my early thirties; I got weirdly comfortable. I was like, ‘This is me – take it or leave it.’ I really wish I could’ve told my younger self, ‘Don’t be worried about your flaws,'” she commented.
And while Priyanka wants to look her best at every opportunity, but that doesn’t mean she thinks she can magically make herself look 15 years younger.
“I won’t deny, I care about the vanity. I’m in the business and I want to look the best that I can, but that’s the key term: the best that I can. I’m not 21; I’m not going to try and look it! My body is changing, my body looks different,” the 36-year-old smiled.
Since winning Miss World in 2000, Priyanka has gone on to become one of Bollywood’s highest-paid figures and was the first Indian actress in TV history to lead a U.S. prime time network show – ABC’s thriller Quantico. She is also teaming with friend and fellow actress Mindy Kaling on an as-yet-untitled wedding comedy project.
But in spite of her hectic schedule, workaholic Priyanka is now working on how to balance her life.
“My head was completely in the game… For almost 15 years of my life, that was it,” she said.
It was after meeting husband Nick Jonas, and being welcomed into the Jonas family by her sisters-in-law – Danielle Jonas, who is married to Kevin, and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who recently wed Joe – that prompted the brunette beauty to alter her work/life balance.
“I’ve never had a sister, so it’s really nice to have Danielle and Sophie… Sophie is super talented, super funny and we have the most fun when we go out together. She’s incredible,” the Isn’t It Romantic star gushed.
