Penelope Cruz stole the spotlight in sequins at the Murder on the Orient Express premiere on Thursday night (02Nov17).
The Spanish actress led a parade of celebrities at a preview screening in London of the mystery film, which is based on the 1934 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie.
Penelope, who stars as Pilar Estravados in the flick, turned heads when she hit the red carpet in a black sequinned Temperley London gown with a daring thigh-high split. The 43-year-old accessorised with Jimmy Choo high heels and Swarovski jewellery, and chose to wear her brunette tresses in loose waves.
Penelope’s co-stars got dressed up for the occasion too; Michelle Pfeiffer sported a sleek silver gown from Prada which featured draped shoulders, Daisy Ridley wowed in an emerald green ballgown with flowing skirt from Vivienne Westwood and Lucy Boynton opted for a silver jacquard dress with green ribbon detail on one shoulder.
Veteran star Judi Dench, who portrays the character of Princess Dragomiroff in the movie, wrapped up for a chilly night in the British capital and sported a black ensemble with a shawl. Following in her footsteps was Olivia Colman, who looked glamorous in a black dress with delicate gold beading the shoulders, and complemented her attire with a dramatic smoky eye make-up.
But it wasn’t just the ladies who stood out on the red carpet – Johnny Depp sported a classic black suit for the night, and took the opportunity to show off his new haircut, featuring shaved sides, as he posed for photographers.
While Kenneth Branagh, who directs the film and also plays central character Hercule Poirot, wore a black suit with double-breasted jacket. Other actors to suit up for the bash included Josh Gad, who looked stylish in a blue number, as well as Leslie Odom Jr., who made a sartorial statement in a shiny charcoal version matched with a white shirt.
