Nicki Minaj accuses Grammys boss of bullying after his dispute with Ariana Grande
Nicki Minaj has accused Grammys boss Ken Ehrlich of bullying her “into staying quiet for seven years”, just days after Ariana Grande claimed he was “lying” about her no-show.
The producer irked the 7 Rings star last week (ends10Feb19) when they had a disagreement over a planned Grammys performance and the singer was so upset she pulled out of the show completely.
And now it appears Ehrlich can expect a tongue lashing from Ariana’s Side to Side collaborator Nicki.
“I p**sed off the same man Ariana just called out for lying,” Minaj tweeted on Monday (11Feb19). “Grammy producer KEN. I was bullied into staying quiet for 7 years out of fear. But I’ll tell my fans the REAL on the next episode of #QueenRadio they deserve the truth. Also, CONGRATS to everyone who won last night.”
Ehrlich hit headlines after Ariana accused him of lying after he detailed her decision not to perform or attend with the media.
“I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me…” Ariana tweeted. “It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you that I decided not to attend. I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.
“it’s about collaboration. it’s about feeling supported. it’s about art and honesty. not politics. not doing favours or playing games. it’s just a game y’all… and i’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.”
After Ariana’s accusations, Ehrlich told U.S. TV show Extra that he’s not holding a grudge against the singer.
“We had hoped she would be with us,” he said. “We were in conversations and discussions for a while, we just never quite met, you know, in the same place. We will celebrate her nominations. We obviously wish her well, and we look forward to the day again when she’s part of the show.”
