Michael Sheen has debuted a new platinum blonde dye job.
The Welsh actor had a battle of the blondes at the premiere of his new movie Home Again in London on Thursday evening (21Sep17), as he took to the red carpet with his co-star Reese Witherspoon.
Swapping his signature dark hair for a near-white hairdo, Michael sported a relaxed look for the event, donning black trousers, a blue shirt and a green tweed jacket.
While he was happy to own his striking new look at the event, the 48-year-old’s blonde hair wasn’t required for his part in Home Again, but for his role in upcoming Amazon series Good Omens. Based on the novel by fantasy writer Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, the six-part show will see Michael portray angel Aziraphale, opposite David Tennant as a demon called Crowley. The show tells of a bungled Armageddon and will also feature Miranda Richardson and Jack Whitehall.
In spite of Michael’s dramatic appearance, Reese wasn’t shown up by her rom-com colleague at the bash. The 41-year-old opted for a custom-made black Stella McCartney dress which featured a bow detail across the bodice. She complemented the look with white Christian Louboutin high heels, jewellery from Cartier and a Valextra clutch purse.
Right before the premiere was about to kick off, Reese took to Instagram to lament the misty British weather, and shared a photo of herself waiting indoors while the rain passed.
“When you’re ready for the red carpet but it’s raining in London…,” she captioned the snap.
Home Again director, Hallie Meyers-Shyer, looked chic in an elegant black jumpsuit which she matched with black high heels. While her filmmaker mother Nancy Meyers, a producer on the flick, opted for casual attire, selecting a blue shirt and black trousers for the event.
