Martha Stewart has divulged her quarantine beauty routine in a candid social media post.
Like millions of others during the coronavirus crisis, the TV personality is currently in social isolation and has no one she can call on to help her maintain her polished appearance.
And taking to Instagram over the weekend, Stewart confessed that she was desperately missing her glam squad.
“Where is my hairdresser Megan? Where is my makeup artist @daisybeautytoye? Where is my colourist Parvin Klein @bergdorfs? Where is my manicurist Luda @johnbarrettnyc?” she wrote alongside a minimally made-up selfie. “I think about you all daily as I attempt my own daily ablutions and preparations.”
Stewart then launched into a stream of back-to-basics beauty tips and tricks, delighting fans caught in lockdowns with low supplies of skincare and cosmetics.
“I warn all of you to not attempt frivolous ‘fixes’ during this time. Wash your hair, condition it, air dry it,” the 78-year-old instructed. “Remove chipped polish and lightly file your nails, (and) with all the hand washing, apply lots of rich hand lotion and reparative ointments.”
For skincare, Stewart recommended cleansing and moisturising skin both day and night, applying a tinted sunscreen, and using a lip gloss.
But in one of her few indulgent suggestions, the lifestyle guru advocated for cannabidiol (CBD) oil-infused face masks: “Apply masks two or three times a week! If you can find CBD masks and serums use those.”
Stewart’s post concluded with some general lockdown health guidelines, including to go easy on cakes and cookies, eat vegetables, and to go outside while observing socially responsible precautions.
“We will survive this newest life challenge I know it is painful and hurtful and difficult. But it is not war. It is a virus. We know what we have to do. Do it!” she insisted.
