Lizzo teaming up with Quay on fun sunglasses collection

Lizzo has collaborated with Quay on a bold new collection of sunglasses.

On Wednesday, the singer-songwriter and body positivity activist announced that she has partnered with the team at the eyewear company on the QUAY X LIZZO line, with the eight-piece range featuring sunglasses, blue light glasses, and accessories.

“My style is always evolving. I like to mix it up, and I love that this collection has a little bit of everything,” she said. “There’s one with glitter lenses, another with star-shaped studs. I like those kinds of special details. These glasses are fun and different.”

Highlights of the collection include the cat-eye shaped Flex, available in black, white and lime green frames, and the square Jaded design, which features tiny silver stars.

And to coincide with the launch, Lizzo is working with executives at Quay and U.S. charity Feeding America to donate one million meals as part of a new initiative. From 20-25 May, customers who buy any pair from the brand’s website will get another pair of their choice for free, and Quay will help provide at least 100 meals per purchase to people struggling with hunger during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Quay is different from other eyewear brands out there. They’re cool and fresh, but also inclusive and attainable,” the Juice hitmaker shared. “Their message of confidence and self-expression is something that I believe in and can stand behind. Combine all that with the opportunity to do good with Feeding America, and it doesn’t get much better than that.”

Items in the QUAY X LIZZO line are priced from $55 (£45).

And Quay chief executive officer Jodi Bricker can’t wait for fans to begin checking out Lizzo’s designs.

“We see Lizzo as an icon of confidence, self-love, and self-expression,” she praised. “She speaks her truth and, in doing so, empowers all of us to do the same. Confidence, self-expression, and authenticity are at the core of everything we do at Quay, and we’re excited to partner with someone who owns that and stand together to help underserved communities through Feeding America.”
