Kourtney Kardashian praises benefits of vampire facials

Kourtney Kardashian books in for a vampire facial as often as her schedule allows.

The reality TV star’s sister Kim Kardashian started the trend for the procedure, also known as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, all the way back in 2013 when the pair met with an aesthetician while filming an episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.

Even though Kim has since confessed regretting trying out the treatment due to the pain, in a new interview with Health magazine, Kourtney praised the concept.

“I love platelet-rich plasma (treatments). They take your blood and spin it, and then take the plasma and microneedle it (into your face). They call it the vampire facial. It’s usually a day of downtime, but it’s something I like to do as often as I can,” she revealed, adding of her other favourite spa treatments: “I do saunas. And Khloe (Kardashian) and I did cryotherapy together. We felt so good afterward. We were like, ‘Let’s do this every morning!'”

And while Kourtney doesn’t mind trying out cutting edge beauty treatments, when at home and working on her lifestyle website Poosh, she is mainly focused on locating and testing the best new clean cosmetics and formulas.

“At Poosh, we are constantly trying new stuff. There’s a myth that (clean beauty) is way more expensive. We have found so many great inexpensive brands. I love Peach & Lily. They have the most amazing face wash and other skin products,” the 40-year-old shared. “I use a lot of them on (my 10-year-old son) Mason – and they’re affordable. Once you find those brands, just stick to them.”
