Kit Harington was questioned about the fate of his Game of Thrones character by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
The British actor has been bombarded with questions about the future of his character Jon Snow ever since the 2015 finale appeared to show him being killed off, and he admits he cannot wait for the next season to begin in April (16) so the queries will stop.
He has not been able to escape the grilling from fans, the man in his local supermarket, celebrities and even British royalty – as the Duchess of Cornwell, Prince Charles’ wife, even tried to get top secret show information out of him during the annual Wimbledon tennis tournament.
“I get this from everybody,” he tells U.K. host Jonathan Ross. “Me and my brother got invited to Wimbledon as you do and a Royal was hosting, we didn’t know which Royal it was and it was the Duchess of Cornwall and she was hosting it and we got sat with her, me and my brother, and she leant over the table and said ‘Are you dead?’ No word of a lie.”
Kit has been insisting that Jon Snow is in fact dead, but since he was spotted filming in Belfast, Northern Ireland nobody believes him when he claims he is “no longer involved in the show” and is simply playing a corpse.
He tells the host, “You’re looking at me like you don’t believe me. It’s going to be so relieving when people actually see the show and realise that I don’t come back.”
Kit spent one or two months filming his scenes, but he is still insistent he spent that long shooting the footage as a corpse. He explains, “I won’t tell you how many episodes I’m lying dead but it’s enough that I was out there for quite a while. It’s going to be so satisfying when you see it and you realise that I was telling the truth the whole time.”
Game of Thrones returns to U.S. screens on 24 April (16).
