Kate Middleton’s hat designer to release line of wedding day headpieces

One of Kate Middleton and Beyonce’s favourite designers is set to unveil a collection of bridal headpieces.

Eugenia Kim is expanding her hat line and releasing accessories that can be worn by brides and bridesmaids. The spring/summer collection features 16 items that include flower-adorned bucket hats and massive bows with floor-length trains.

The Crazy in Love hitmaker was spotted wearing a leather beret from Kim’s label earlier this year while Middleton sported one of her knitted beanies.

Kim explains her own impending nuptials inspired the collection.

“I’m getting married soon, (and) I was doing my own research on bridal wear and wasn’t finding pieces that suited my personality,” she said in a statement. “Around the same time, I was asked by a close friend to design custom pieces for both her and her entire wedding party, so I knew there were other brides-to-be out there who weren’t finding what they needed from traditional bridal accessories designers. So I decided to just fill that place in the market myself!”

The items were designed for all portions of the ceremony, from the ceremony to the reception to the honeymoon, and among the offerings is a straw hat perfect for a post-wedding beach getaway and an easy-to-wear vintage feather headband.

Prices range from $145 to $1,995 and will be available to order through the trendsetter’s website later this year (18).

During New York Fashion Week in February (18), Kim celebrated the 20th anniversary of her brand with a showcase of her most popular looks, including an item worn by Ben Stiller in the film Zoolander and a biker cap worn by Madonna in 2014.
