Justin Timberlake doesn’t regret wearing coordinating denim outfits with his then-girlfriend Britney Spears to the 2001 American Music Awards.
During an interview on Lance Bass’ podcast The Daily Popcast, the 39-year-old singer blamed being “young and in love” for his decision to wear the coordinating outfit.
“You can kind of rock that one today,” Justin told his former *NSYNC bandmate. “You do a lot of things when you’re young and in love.”
The Cry Me a River hitmaker wore a denim two-piece suit, with a denim patchwork stetson hat, alongside Britney, who rocked a strapless denim gown with matching bag as well as a diamond necklace and bracelet.
Back in 2013, the Toxic hitmaker revealed she was the one who planned the outfits for the American Music Awards and told MTV that she still has the original dress in her closet.
Elsewhere in the interview, Justin admitted that “there’s a ton” of hairstyles he would like to forget from his earlier years in the music industry, such as his bandana phase. He explained that he used the hair accessory because he “couldn’t figure out what the hell to do” with his locks.
He also reflected on his experience in the hugely successful boyband, and teased a possible reunion with Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their chart-topping 2000 album No Strings Attached.
The Social Network star said the five-piece are still in touch with one another in an “ongoing group chat” and he hopes to “get together and just talk” about doing a reunion.
The band previously reunited at their Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in April last year and for JC’s 40th birthday bash in August 2016.
