Jamie Dornan: ‘Yoga is not for me!’

by #People

Jamie Dornan broke into a fit of laughter during his first and only yoga session.

The Northern Irish actor, perhaps best known for his performances in crime series The Fall and in the Fifty Shades film franchise, is no stranger to hitting the gym to get into shape for roles.

However, he has now confessed that there is one type of exercise class that he won’t be attending ever again.

“Mantras and yoga aren’t for me,” he told U.K. Marie Claire magazine. “When I was in L.A., I tried yoga once to relax. I was with an actor friend of mine and we had to leave because I had a hardcore giggle fit! I have a lot of respect for yoga and I’m sure it works for some people, but I prefer to play golf. It’s pure escapism.”

In addition to promoting his new movie Robin Hood and shooting miniseries Death and Nightingales, Jamie is one of the faces of Hugo Boss’ fragrance.

He appears in the new campaign for Boss The Scent Private Accord and is fond of the ginger, oriental and cocoa notes of the scent.

“Believe it or not, I don’t have a strong sense of smell. I know that sounds quite bad but I can only breathe through one nostril because someone decided to headbutt me in 2004. That said, it makes me more discerning when it comes to fragrance. I love how naturalistic, sensual and playful new Boss The Scent Private Accord For Him is. With cocoa and mocha, it’s not too earnest, which is why I like being the face,” the 36-year-old said.

And while Jamie poses up a storm in the marketing imagery, he noted that he has no desire to return to the modelling world after landing gigs for the likes of Calvin Klein and Dior in the early days of his career.

“I didn’t love modelling, but something good came out of it in that it taught me how to be comfortable with a camera in my face…. It was good training, I guess,” he added.
