Halsey has partnered with designers at DKNY on a hoodie in order to raise funds for a homelessness charity.
The Without Me singer was tapped to front the U.S. fashion house’s 30th birthday campaign, which was released in August, and while on the shoot, Halsey, who is also a talented artist, created a painting of a red, black and white apple, which represents DKNY’s New York hometown.
The artwork has now been used on the DKNY X Halsey hoodie, an exclusive, limited-edition white sweatshirt, which features the apple design on the back and the words “DKNY Halsey” in a small black font on the front with a black heart symbol.
All proceeds from sales of the hoodie will go towards My Friend’s Place, a non-profit organisation which helps and inspires homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives.
DKNY officials shared a video of the singer creating the painting on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “@IAMHALSEY expresses herself with her art, and speaks up for what she believes in. We partnered with Halsey to create a limited-edition hoodie that gives back to a charity close to her heart: @MyFriendsPlace.”
The 25-year-old also posted the video and added, “This holiday season, @dkny & I collaborated on a limited-edition hoodie where ALL PROCEEDS will go to @myfriendsplace – an organisation that provides resources to the homeless youth of Los Angeles!!!!!”
Representatives from My Friend’s Place shared images of the hoodie on social media and wrote, “We are so excited about this amazing collaboration between our incredible champion @iamhalsey and our friends at @dkny!”
Halsey was honoured with an award at a benefit for My Friend’s Place earlier this year, and during her speech, she opened up about her own experiences with homelessness.
The DKNY X Halsey hoodie retails for $79 (£59) and is available to buy from the DKNY website.
