Halle Berry turned heads in a sheer gown at the 2018 NAACP Image Awards on Monday night (15Jan18).
The Oscar-winning actress stole the spotlight as she arrived at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California for the ceremony, presented by The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and hosted by Black-ish star Anthony Anderson.
Halle, who was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her work in Kidnap, opted for a black lace dress with sheer panels down the front and dark red fabric on the bodice from Reem Acra.
She topped off the racy look with black platform high heels and had her hair swept up into a chic chignon style.
Another star to make a statement was Kerry Washington, who stepped out in a dramatic black ballgown from Michael Kors. Kerry, who was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in TV show Scandal, completed her look with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and jewellery from Atelier Tasaki x Prabal Gurung.
Sparkly outfits were a big trend for the night too; Tracee Ellis Ross, who took home Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for Black-ish, sported a silver sequinned number from Narciso Rodriquez, while Issa Rae looked gorgeous in a green and silver sequin gown from Marc Jacobs.
Ava DuVernay, who was awarded with the Entertainer of the Year prize, donned a dark red Greta Constantine jumpsuit for the bash. Mudbound star and singer Mary J. Blige presented the A Wrinkle in Time director with the award, and looked very glamorous in a black Christian Siriano dress with white lace detail on the shoulders.
And Danielle Brooks, who was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Orange Is the New Black, dazzled in a pale pink princess-style gown from Michael Costello.
